The Flow line to the 911 communications centre is working again after a brief outage, according to an alert from the Cayman Islands National Emergency Notification System.
At 11.32am today, 21 Nov., the system delivered a message which read: “The public is being advised that 911 call lines are now fully operational. Flow has rectified the problem.”
Earlier in the morning, just after 9.30am it had warned that the Flow landline to the emergency call system was down.
“In case of emergency, persons should make phone calls from a Digicel phone line,” it said at the time.
Sean Vasquez, acting director of the 911 communications centre, had also said “all emergency calls to the 911 call centre should be made using Flow mobile of any Digicel line.”
He added in a statement: “The matter is currently being addressed by Flow.”
