Three of Cayman’s top golfers are gearing up to swing into action at the 2024 Latin American Amateur Championship being held in Panama City, Panama.
Justin Hastings, Aaron Jarvis and Andrew Jarvis will compete at the Santa Maria Golf Club from 18-21 Jan., against a stacked field of elite golfers.
“We…are very hopeful of a positive result for all three,” Daniel Fortune, president of the Cayman Islands Golf Association stated in a press release.
The three golfers represent a strong contingent representing Cayman at the tournament, most notably Aaron Jarvis, who won the 2022 event. Meanwhile, Hastings, fresh off his victory at the Grant Thornton Coach Invitational, also has a solid history at the event, as the youngest player to ever make the cut in 2018 at just 14 years old.
For anyone interested in following the action, the four-day competition will be broadcast live on ESPN2. The winner of the Latin American Amateur Championship will qualify for the Open Championship and the Masters Tournament later this year.
