Cayman Olympian Jillian Crooks closed the show for her country’s team at the 21st World Aquatics Championships (long course) in Doha, Qatar.
Crooks swam in heat nine of the 50-metre freestyle on Saturday, 17 Feb., touching the wall at 25.79 seconds – .13 off her personal best. While she did not advance to the semi-finals, Crooks placed 32nd out of 107 swimmers seeded for that event.
A day prior, she swam her 100m free heat in 55.61 seconds – an effort that placed her 20th out of 84 swimmers.
Crooks took to Instagram after the race, writing “thank you Doha. Now back to work.”
Also representing Cayman at the event were James Allison and Harper Barrowman, the latter securing a personal best in the 200m freestyle.
