Jordan Crooks closed out his competitive junior season with his school – the University of Tennessee – at the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships, finishing in top form.
Crooks just missed repeating his 50-yard freestyle gold from last year, falling 0.02 seconds short to take silver in a time of 18.09.
With his sights fixed on the Paris Olympics this summer, Crooks continued to improve his form at the 2024 NCAA championships when he swam to a new school record in the 200 free.
Though Crooks placed sixth overall in the finals, touching the wall in 1:31.04, during the prelims he obliterated the school record by swimming an impressive 1:30.41, making him the first swimmer in Tennessee history to go sub-1:31.00 in that event.
The Caymanian went on to help improve on several more school records in the relays, beginning with the 200 free. Crooks, along with teammates, Micah Chambers, Nikoli Blackman and Gui Caribe, shattered the school record with a time of 1:14.38 – besting the previous record by 0.3 seconds.
