Police have formally charged a 21-year-old man of West Bay with attempted murder. The suspect was scheduled to appear in court today, according to a press release issued Monday.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service arrested the man in relation to an incident that occurred on 20 May.

Patrolling officers found the victim, who had sustained “serious and life-threatening injuries”, lying in the carpark of Trafalgar Plaza just before midnight.

The following Tuesday morning, police stopped a “suspicious looking vehicle” near the Strand complex and arrested the West Bay man on suspicion of attempted murder and driving under the influence of alcohol.
