Popular dance school Centre Pointe Ltd marked 15 years in the business with a purple ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expansion of its dance studio on Sunday, 29 Sept.

The celebratory day included dance, a documentary series about Centre Point and many words of gratitude.

Launching from a simple vision between a mother and daughter to open a dance school, Centre Pointe has slowly built its reputation as a “thriving hub of creativity and passion in the Cayman Islands”, according to CEO Sophie Conolly and founder Anita Gough.

With the school slowly outgrowing its former studio unit, it recently expanded into a new unit at Alissta Towers in George Town.

The dance company caters to students ranging from babies to adults, offering a wide variety of classes including ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, musical theatre, Irish, and contemporary. The company also offers camps, special community events, pageant training and event production and management.

“It has become more than just a dance studio; it has become a family. As we celebrate 15 incredible years of Centre Pointe Ltd, we reflect on the journey that has shaped not only the lives of its dancers but also the community around it,” the mother-daughter duo, Conolly and Gough, said.

Sunday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by a studio revamp party and a celebration to mark the studio’s second ‘Best in Dance’ award recognition from the Best of Cayman  awards.

Parents, performers and supporters also enjoyed a tour of the new studios, sampled free dance classes, met with dance instructors and made arts and crafts.

Event coordinator Jenny Freeman said the day was a huge success.

Conolly and Gough thanked Jesus Christ, and the community of students, parents, staff and supporters for their “unwavering commitment throughout this journey”.

“We promise to continue to change lives one dance step at a time,” Conolly and Gough said.
