With hands in the air, hips swaying from side-to-side, senior citizens from across Cayman rocked the dance floor to the sounds of Henry Leslie and company during the 59th annual Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Boxing Day Lunch held at the First Baptist Church Hall on Thursday, 26 Dec.
More than 300 people gathered for the day of food, live entertainment, prizes, and fellowship. Attendees were also treated to goodie bags of food and personal items donated by several club partners.
“It’s really to give back to the community and honour our islands’ senior citizens,” Christian Victory, president for the Rotary Club 2024-2025 told the Cayman Compass.
“This year has been the best attended with over 300 people. Just really happy to enjoy some Christmas cheer and fun with our citizens.”
He added, “The smile and faces from the people here is always a highlight.”
Alice V. Jackson, 83, of West Bay has been attending over the years and told the Compass, “It was a really good event this year. [I] saw a lot of my friends and it was good to meet people I haven’t seen for quite a while.”
