Sporting legend Robert ‘Bobby’ Henry Houston Nunes, who founded both the Jamaica Cycling Federation and the Cayman Islands Cycling Association, and was former chairman and president of the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee, died on 24 Nov., at the age of 90.
A leading figure in Cayman’s insurance industry for many years, Gordon Rowell, passed away on 18 Dec. at the age of 59. He had headed the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority’s Insurance Supervision Division, and was also previously the chief executive officer of the Cayman Islands National Insurance Company (CINICO).
The family of Errol Lennox Bush announced his passing on 23 Dec. The former director of the Port Authority was also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. The Compass will have a full obituary in subsequent reporting.
