Cayman’s youth and the next generation

Which party is investing in their future?

The future of the Cayman Islands depends on empowering our youth.

Yet, many young Caymanians feel overlooked by the political system.

Despite being more educated, ambitious, and engaged than ever before, they continue to face roadblocks that make it difficult to build successful careers, own homes, and have a voice in shaping the future of their country.

If the Cayman Islands is to thrive in the years ahead, leaders must do more than just acknowledge these concerns during election season – they must take real action to invest in the next generation.

The Cayman Islands National Party (CINP) is committed to ensuring that young Caymanians are not just heard but supported through real policies that create opportunities and build a sustainable future.

CHALLENGES FACING YOUNG CAYMANIANS

  1. Limited career opportunities

Many young Caymanians work hard to obtain degrees and certifications, yet they still struggle to find meaningful employment. Companies often claim there are no ‘qualified’ Caymanians for high-level positions but fail to provide on-the-job training, apprenticeships, or career advancement opportunities.

As a result, young professionals remain underemployed or are forced to leave the islands for better opportunities abroad.

CINP’s solution: We will implement policies that require businesses to offer structured apprenticeships and leadership development programmes for Caymanian workers. Additionally, CINP will push for a stronger Caymanian hiring in key industries.

  1. Unaffordable housing

Owning a home is one of the biggest markers of stability, yet for many young Caymanians, it remains out of reach. Rising property costs, limited housing supply, and competition from foreign investors make it nearly impossible for young professionals and families to enter the housing market. Without targeted policies, the next generation may struggle to establish long-term roots in their own country.

CINP’s solution: Our party is committed to first-time Caymanian homeowner assistance programmes, limiting foreign speculation in the housing market, and prioritising developments that benefit Caymanians – not just wealthy investors.

  1. Lack of political representation

Despite making up a significant portion of the population, young Caymanians often feel ignored in political decision-making. Many government policies focus on short-term solutions that benefit older generations, while issues affecting youth – such as education, job training, and affordable housing – receive little attention. Without a seat at the table, the voices of young Caymanians are lost in the political process.

CINP’s solution: We believe that young Caymanians deserve a direct role in shaping policy. That’s why CINP is committed to youth representation in government.

INVESTING IN THE NEXT GENERATION

The CINP believes that investing in our youth isn’t just a campaign promise – it’s a necessity for the future of our islands. Our plan includes:

  1. Education & job training
  • Expanding vocational training and apprenticeships in high-demand industries, including finance, tourism and healthcare.
  • Increasing scholarship opportunities for students pursuing careers critical to Cayman’s economy.
  • Encouraging businesses to mentor and hire young Caymanians, ensuring they gain experience in leadership roles.
  1. Affordable housing solutions
  • Implementing first-time buyer assistance programmes to help young Caymanians purchase homes.
  • Restricting excessive foreign speculation that drives up housing prices.
  • Increasing affordable housing developments specifically designed for young professionals and families.
  1. Youth involvement in leadership
  • Establishing a National Youth Advisory Council to give young Caymanians a direct voice in policymaking.
  • Encouraging political mentorship programmes to develop the next generation of leaders.
  • Creating platforms for young Caymanians to engage in civic discussions and contribute to national decisions.

A vote for CINP is a vote for Cayman’s future

A government that fails to invest in its youth fails the entire country. It’s time to put Cayman’s next generation first. The decisions made today will determine the success and stability of our islands for years to come.

Young Caymanians deserve more than just words – they deserve action. CINP is the only party fully committed to investing in youth through real policies, not empty promises.

The future of Cayman is in your hands. In 2025, vote for leadership that invests in Cayman’s youth. Vote for CINP.
