The speed limit for much of Frank Sound Road has been reduced from 50mph to 40mph, according to the National Roads Authority.

The reduction has taken effect along the expanse of Frank Sound Road from Bodden Town Road/Seaview Road to Botanic Road.

“This adjustment comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety in residential and high-traffic areas,” the NRA said in a press release.

“The decision to reduce the speed limit follows a review of traffic patterns, accident data and community feedback indicating the need for safer travel speeds along this stretch of road, which is frequently used by school buses, cyclists and pedestrians, especially near the Botanic Park and local residences.”

Updated speed limit signs have been installed along the road to indicate the change.
