The Cayman Islands is banking on longer vacations and deeper visitor engagement with the launch of its 2025 summer tourism campaign, ‘Caution: Book Responsibly’.
The focal point of the promotion – stay seven nights for the price of six – was unveiled at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Caribbean Travel Forum, held 19 May at Sandals Grande Antigua, and is part of a broader strategy to compete for high-value travellers during the peak summer season.
The campaign, part of Cayman’s summer promotion, aligns with a growing shift in global travel behaviour.
Travellers are increasingly opting for longer vacations and more immersive trips, and are spending more while they’re at it, according to Mastercard’s Global Travel Trends 2025 report. Skift Research has similarly dubbed 2025 “the year of long getaways”, underscoring a global appetite for vacations that offer more than just a brief escape.
“Summer is a competitive time for our region as there is heightened prospecting to secure family travel,” Rosa Harris, director of tourism for the Cayman Islands, said in a press release announcing the promotion. “This requires the full complement of sales, marketing and advertising support to succeed.”

The American Express Travel 2025 Global Travel Trends report also concluded that travel is becoming more intentional.
Research from Skift shows that travellers are opting for longer vacations and making more strategic spending choices. Particularly in the luxury segment, there’s a growing emphasis on finding greater value while still prioritising authentic experiences, according to American Express.
“Travellers are becoming increasingly savvy,” said Veronique Raynaud, vice president and general manager, Global Client Group International, American Express, according to a report from Tornos news, stressing that it is increasingly important for travellers to maximise the value of their trip.
In keeping with this trend, the ‘7th Night Free’ promotion spans a wide range of accommodations, from boutique hotels and beachfront villas to internationally recognised brands, encouraging longer, more meaningful stays. Participating properties include the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort, Hampton by Hilton Grand Cayman, The Grandview Condos, Turquoise Haze, Beach Living Properties, and Breezy Bay, among others.
Beyond the flagship offer, a slew of additional promotions are rolling out to entice travellers with deeper savings and value-added experiences.
At the Wyndham Reef Resort Grand Cayman, guests can score 35% off accommodations and 10% off the all-inclusive package for bookings made by 31 May. At the Westin Grand Cayman, visitors can stay five nights for the price of four and benefit from a $100 food-and-beverage credit.
The Holiday Inn Resort Grand Cayman is offering every third night free, plus a $50 daily food-and-beverage credit and welcome cocktails under its ‘Slice of Cayman Paradise’ deal. Meanwhile, Harbour Heights is targeting off-peak travellers with 30% off for September and October bookings.
Hurricane season flexibility
To ease concerns during hurricane season, the Cayman Islands is also extending its ‘Worry Free Hurricane Guarantee”. Created in collaboration with local hospitality partners, the programme offers flexible booking policies, including full refunds or rescheduling options for weather-related cancellations. the tourism department said in the release.
Bookings for the ‘7th Night Free’ promotion must be made by 17 Aug. for travel completed by 31 Aug.
The campaign launch coincided with the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace, also held in Antigua, which convened top industry stakeholders to strategise around building a more sustainable, resilient regional tourism sector.
Next on the agenda for Harris is Caribbean Week in New York, taking place from 1-6 June. The high-profile event will unite global and regional leaders in tourism, media and culture under the theme ‘Caribbean Resilience: Crafting Tomorrow’s Tourism’.
