In honour of its 50th anniversary, the University College of the Cayman Islands will facilitate a series of STEM workshops for 50 students, ages 10 to 14, this summer.
The programme, sponsored by Cayman Enterprise City, will include five, distinct half-day workshops from 18-22 Aug. on topics relating to science, technology, engineering and mathematics – known as STEM.
Topics covered during the ’50 for 50th’ programme will include 3D design and printing, robotics, computer programming, health and environmental science, and chemistry, biology and forensic science.
“Our ’50 for 50th’ initiative represents both our milestone anniversary and our dedication to nurturing the next generation of innovators,” said UCCI assistant professor Antoinette Gayle.
Enterprise City has covered most of the STEM programme costs, including materials, facilitator honorariums and refreshments.
Registration opens 2 June and participants can enrol in up to two workshops at a cost of $25 each. Activities will take place at the UCCI campus.
