Cayman is in for some exciting youth basketball action as the inaugural Cayman Islands Hoop Fest makes its debut on local courts.

The youth tournament runs from 3-5 July at the Arts and Recreation Centre in Camana Bay.

This event will feature the Cayman Islands national under-17 boys’ team (Cayman U17 Storm) and the Cayman Bulldogs going head-to-head with international squads Campion College from Jamaica and Texas Tigers.

Hoop Fest is specifically designed to provide the nation’s rising stars with invaluable international exposure, allowing them to hone their skills against high-calibre competition on their home court.

“This is more than just a tournament – it’s a major step forward for youth basketball in the Cayman Islands,” said Collin Anglin, president of the Cayman Islands Basketball Association in a press release.

“Events like this help develop our national team players and promote Cayman as a destination for competitive sports and youth development. It also reduces our cost per international game significantly,” he added.

Daily tickets to catch all the court action are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10.
