The Ministry and Department of Tourism last month hosted a networking event for current and past scholarship recipients.
Held 25 July, the event was attended by about 65 people including government officials, current and past scholarship recipients, and industry partners.
The networking event provided a platform for scholars to connect, share experiences and foster relationships that support their personal and professional growth. It also served as a vehicle to celebrate the achievements of recent graduates and officially introduce the new cohort of Ministry of Tourism scholars to the alumni network.
Ministry of Tourism scholars Laurent Bodden and Mohyndra Brown delivered remarks, sharing their educational and professional journeys, while highlighting the pivotal role that the scholarships played in their development.
“It was truly a pleasure to meet such an inspiring group of young Caymanian scholars, and I was genuinely impressed by their talent, drive and ambition,” said Gary Rutty, deputy premier and minister of tourism.
“Supporting Caymanians who are passionate about entering the tourism industry and are pursuing tertiary education is not just a priority, it is essential for the future sustainability of our tourism sector. I wish them every success and I look forward to the meaningful contributions they will make to the industry upon the completion of their studies.”
