Camana Bay Cinema making it easier for moviegoers

Camana Bay Cinema is reimagining how moviegoers buy tickets, snacks and drinks with a wave of new upgrades that it began rolling out in December of last year and will continue into the spring of this year.

The biggest change already up and running is the introduction of self-service popcorn and beverage stations. Conveniently located in the hallway leading to the auditoriums, these new kiosks allow guests to serve themselves with ease. And for anyone wondering – yes, it’s the same popcorn fans have always enjoyed at the concession stand. The popcorn is made using the same brand, recipe and process, then transferred into the machines, ensuring the familiar taste remains unchanged.

The process is simple. When guests purchase popcorn or a drink, they are handed a cup and/or popcorn tub to fill at the self-service stations. Even better news for snack lovers, popcorn and soda all come with free refills.

Looking ahead to March, guests will also be able to purchase these items online or through upcoming self-service kiosks inside the cinema. “The purchase of these items will include a voucher, which can be exchanged at the drink machines for a cup or popcorn tub,” said the cinema’s general manager, Corey Randolph.

For those who prefer the traditional experience, there’s no need to worry. The regular concession stands remain open and fully operational, offering the same service as always. Randolph said the goal isn’t to replace what works, but to give guests more options and flexibility.

Another change already in place is the cinema’s switch to Coca-Cola products. As of 1 Dec., the transition was completed, bringing the full lineup of Coca-Cola flavours – including Icee, the popular slushie brand that is also available in the self-serve kiosks – to Camana Bay Cinema.

More upgrades coming

In addition to the already existing upgrades, ticket kiosks are currently in development and are expected to arrive in late March or early April 2026.

Randolph said these kiosks will be “a great way to skip the concession line if you are purchasing a ticket, a drink or popcorn.” Around the same time, a new ticket-purchasing app is also expected to go live, to further streamline the process. Despite these changes, films and showtimes will continue to be available on Fandango, with no plans to remove that option.

To make room for the new self-service dispensers, the cinema underwent thoughtful remodeling. A wall to a storage room was removed, and the machines were tucked neatly into that space, allowing the hallway to remain the same size while accommodating the new features.
