Boarding schools from the UK, US and Canada are taking part in Dorm & Day’s Winter Fair on Saturday, 7 March and founder Amanda Roberts is encouraging parents across Cayman to come along to find out more.

“The fair is an opportunity for people to find out what opportunities there are available for them and their children,” she said. “Many boarding schools have generous scholarships based on academic merits or sports performance and there are financial bursaries available too.”

There are more than 100 boarding schools on Dorm & Day’s books with 10 schools attending the Winter Fair in person including Princess Anne’s old school, Benenden in Kent, Ampleforth College in Yorkshire, Campbell College, Belfast, Lakefield College in Ontario and St. Johnsbury in Vermont.

Range of schools

“We have a wide portfolio of schools, not only where they are located, but in their character and facilities,” said Roberts. “It can be a great preparation for further education such as university but also preparing students for the workplace.”

Some are single sex while others are co-ed and have a range of areas of expertise, from sports such as football, cricket, rugby, netball and hockey to the performing arts and outdoor activities. Students can be accepted at any age with typical entry being between ages 11 or 16.
