Eleven reels on Compass TV have been nominated in three categories of the 37th Caribbean Broadcasting Union Media Awards, with members of the public now being invited to vote in the ‘People’s Choice’ segment of the regional competition.
The CBU Media Awards are presented annually to recognise outstanding print, digital, television and radio content produced and published across the Caribbean. This year’s awards honour work broadcast or published during 2025.
Compass Media’s nominations span news and current affairs, education and music programming. Winners will be announced at the CBU Media Awards Gala on 19 August 2026 during the Caribbean Broadcasting Union’s 57th Annual General Assembly.
The People’s Choice category
The People’s Choice category differs from the formally judged awards, with winners determined directly by public engagement rather than an expert panel. The category allows audiences across the region to support and select their favourite productions through social media interaction.
Among the nominated productions is ‘Compass TV: Christmas Beef‘, which has been shortlisted in the Best News & Current Affairs Reel category. The piece features work by Alvaro Serey, Philipp Richter, Shanda Gallego, Kayla Karim, Stephon Johnson and Vanessa Hansen Allott.

The public can vote by visiting the Caribbean Broadcasting Union’s social media pages and ‘hearting’ or liking the nominated videos.
According to the Caribbean Broadcasting Union, each heart or like counts as one vote on that individual platform, meaning supporters can cast multiple votes by liking entries across all of the CBU’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Threads.
The last day to vote is 15 May.
