The Cayman Pride parade, originally scheduled for June, has been postponed until Saturday, 10 Oct. 2026.

In a press release issued on Friday, 29 May, the Cayman Pride Committee said, “This decision was not made lightly. As a volunteer-led organisation, Cayman Pride is committed to delivering a safe, meaningful and inclusive experience for our community and allies.

“To do that well, we need additional time to secure the sponsorship, partnerships and resources necessary to bring Pride to life in the way our community deserves.”

The committee emphasised that the parade was not cancelled, but simply moving to a new date.

Cayman Pride Committee member Schmarrah McCarthy said, “While we know many people were looking forward to celebrating in June, we believe this postponement will allow us to create an even stronger, more impactful event – one that reflects the spirit, resilience and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community in the Cayman Islands.”

“We remain deeply grateful to our sponsors, volunteers, partners, and community members who continue to stand with us,” said Wright. “Your support matters and helps make Pride possible.”

More details, including an event listing and opportunities to get involved, will be shared in the coming months.
