The Cayman Islands Gaelic Football Committee boasted a playing membership of nearly 200 in the 2011 Digicel League, with a further 150 social members.

The club brings ex-pats from all countries together with Caymanians to play Gaelic football, with talent from Cayman, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, UK and, of course, Ireland.

The first Gaelic football game played in Cayman was in 1987, with the club officially being formed in 1999, holding an initial membership of just 30 players.

The club aimed to enable Irish ex-pats to continue to play Gaelic football whilst far away from home. Currently, a bi-weekly women’s and men’s League now runs from January to June each year with membership and the social community around the club growing every year.

“If you are interested in joining our club please come along to the Mixed 9s Tournament to see what the game is about and meet some of our friendly members from all countries!

For further information or if you would like to sign up to the League please see www.caymangaelic.com, or email us at caymangaelicfootball.com. There is an after party at Edoardos from 7pm.”
