Tarpon and Triple C will dazzle all

The KPMG Under 14 Basketball League is giving a number of schools a chance to shine.

Among them are John Gray High School and Triple C. Recently, the sides faced off in the girls segment with John Gray’s Tarpon Academy coming out on top 33-17.

Tarpon, like the other teams, have enjoyed the competition thus far and have loads of potential talent. Among the notable players are Kayla Mitchell (15 points), Khalian O’Connor (10 points) and Deidre-Ann Bodden (8 points). Triple C sport ladies like Alicia Terrel (11 points) and Shanice Walton (4 points).

Having only begun in the past few weeks with the assistance of Daniel Augustine, Triple C are now led by local veteran Wendy Manzanares as head coach on behalf of the Cayman Islands Basketball Association coaches association.

In total, the U14 competition features over 130 kids on 11 teams: six boys squads and five sides in the girls segment. The inter-school showcase features the John Gray High School Academies, Triple C School and one team from Clifton Hunter High School.
