T-Ball set to honour top sluggers

As local Little League gears down, T-Ball is gearing up to highlight its top players.

The Field of Dreams sees the Cayman Islands Little League officially end its 23rd season this weekend with festivities on Thursday, 30 May and Friday, 1 June. Among the events will be the all-star game on Friday at 5.30pm on field two with the awards ceremony following exhibition games on Saturday from 5.30pm on fields two and three.

The following are the list of trophy winners for the best sportsmanship and most improved players. Team GCM sports Nya Roberts (sportsmanship award) and Rio Windsor (most improved player), Butterfield has Isaac Granger and Taylor Bramwell, Esso features Joseph Watler and Kaiden Iton, Scotiabank has Malikai Weatherford and D’Nique Solomon, Appleby sports Jackson Mackay and Luke Bodden, KM Ltd features Liam Benson and Cole Serrant with Conyers, Dill and Pearman fielding Justin Parsons and Ramon Rayos Del Sol.

Parents are reminded to ensure their kids at this weekend’s events early, at 5:15pm sharp. The children must be in full uniform.

Division coordinator Cheyenna Stewart spoke about this season’s strides.

“Thank you all for such a great season,” Stewart said. “It is amazing how we have so many dedicated parents who have supported their children from the very first practice. It has been a great four months and I hope each and every one of you will be back next season.

“It has been great working with the children. They are truly fun and entertaining. I hope to see you all this weekend.”
