It was a fine morning for a parade in George Town last Saturday, as locals and tourists made their way to George Town to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.
The ceremony that followed bestowed Certificates and Badges of Honour and Duke of Edinburgh Gold Awards upon deserving recipients. “It is so important to acknowledge the outstanding accomplishments of the young people who have achieved these gold awards, and to notice all the children involved in the parade this morning. At a time when there are so many reports of our youth falling into trouble, it is gratifying to see their participation,” said Katherine Jackson, National Chairman of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Detective Inspector Adeniyi Collins Oremule, not pictured, was awarded the Colonial Police Medal.
