Offshore law firm Forbes Hare to open in London

Offshore law firm Forbes Hare is set to open an office in London next month.

The London office will bring the firm closer to many of its clients, Managing Partner William Hare said.

“Forbes Hare’s growth is a by-product of the service it offers clients. A significant number of those clients are either in London or in places better served from London, so we see this as a logical development,” he said.

The firm, which has offices in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands, recently featured as the 21st largest law firm in The Lawyer’s Offshore Top 30 report.

“We focus on providing a high quality service to a sophisticated and discerning client base,” said Mr. Hare. “The majority of our lawyers will continue to practise in the BVI and Cayman Islands, but we believe that a London office will usefully augment the services we can offer.”

Former Walkers corporate and investment funds partner Catherine Ross will be joining the firm as a partner in London, with the firm set to announce further recruits shortly. Ms Ross has previously worked in the BVI, London and Jersey with Walkers, and has extensive experience advising on all aspects of BVI and Cayman corporate and finance law, with a particular focus on hedge funds. Prior to joining Walkers, she worked for leading firms in Bermuda and Luxembourg.

“Forbes Hare is recognised as one of the leading offshore firms in BVI and Cayman and I am delighted to be joining them at an exciting time in the firm’s development,” Ms Ross said.
