A host of events are being arranged by Rotary Sunrise in honour of the Rotary’s Literacy Month of March.
There will Saturday readings for children at Books & Books and the George Town Library throughout March from 10.30am to 11am. Another programme is Buy a Kid a Book during which shoppers purchase a kid’s book at Books & Books and Book Nook or donate cash with all proceeds to the ongoing reading partner programme. This brings together volunteers with students in local schools including George Town Primary School, John A. Cumber, Red Bay Primary and John Gray High School. These volunteers come from Rotary, companies such as Maples, KPMG, Aon, Conyers and more.
There will also be collections at Foster’s Strand location on three Saturdays during the month, proceeds of which go to the reading partners programme.
