Christina Washington’s bold, bright and vibrant paintings will be adorning the walls of Full of Beans next month.
An office administrator by day, Christina describes herself as an overly passionate artist by night.
“Art is my retreat that allows me to explore and express my passions that are subdued during the 9 to 5,” she says.
Caymanian by birth, Christina says the beauty and diversity of these islands have been her inspiration, although the subject of her paintings can be anything from city scenes to musical themes.
What is common to all her paintings however is the bright, primary colours and bold outlines she uses.
Music is her muse, Christina says.
“It speaks to the painter in me through its beats, lyrics and melodies and gives me images and colours which I feel compelled to put on canvas.”
Her first exhibition was titled “Musically Inspired”, this one is “Musical Wanderlust”. Her paintings are populated by singers, musicians and instruments and seem to pulsate with life.
Stop by Full of Beans Cafe in Pasadora Place to see some of Christina’s artwork between 5 March and 1 April.
