Two people are in hospital following two separate serious motor vehicle accidents in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
In the first of the two accidents, a car collided with a utility pole on Bodden Town Road. Police received a report of the accident at 3.08 a.m. Wednesday.
The 21-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment and was later air lifted off island in a critical condition.
The second collision occurred between two vehicles – a Honda and a Ford Ranger – on Crewe Road in George Town. Police said they received a report of the accident at 4.22 a.m.
The 39-year-old male driver was undergoing treatment in the Cayman Islands Hospital Thursday and police described him as being in a stable condition. The 48-year-old driver of the Ford Ranger was not admitted to hospital.
