Local netball is getting the support of Cayman’s ruling British official
Governor Helen Kilpatrick will be part of the Cayman Islands Netball Association’s Honoring Women Month ceremony on Saturday, March 22. The Truman Bodden Sports Complex netball courts will serve as the venue from 3:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. Governor Kilpatrick will be given the title of patron for Cayman netball.
News of the event comes as the Appleby Netball League, the national women’s competition, reaches its closing stages. In the Championship division, reigning national champions Conyers All Stars head into the playoffs with the top seed at 3-0, ahead of 2-1 Roma, 1-2 Rising Stars A and 0-3 Flames Strikers.
Prior to this week’s regular season finales, 3-1 Lights International top the Plate division ahead of four others including 3-0 Cayman National Bank All Stars B while 3-0 Blue Diamonds pace Division Three ahead of four teams including the 2-1 Ernst and Young Hot Shots.
