Caymanian Charles Allen has been admitted to the Bar in the Cayman Islands, sworn in by Chief Justice Margaret Ramsay-Hale on Tuesday, 13 May.

Allen, who received Appleby’s legal scholarship in 2019, joined the firm’s articled clerk programme in 2023, where he completed an 18-month rotation across practice areas corporate, litigation, property, and private client and trusts. Previously, he took part in the law firm’s legal internship programme, working with the corporate and dispute resolution teams over two summers.

His admission to the Bar was moved by Appleby counsel Susan Fallan.

Allen earned a bachelor of laws degree with honours from King’s College London in 2022, and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in 2023. He is joining Appleby’s corporate team as an associate, where he will focus on structured finance, a press release on his admission said.

In his address to the court, Allen said, “I am truly grateful to Appleby and look forward to a bright future here, full of opportunity.”
