The BritCay Premiums hope to jump-start a late season surge.
After so-so form in the early stages, 3-4 BritCay sits sixth out of 11 teams in the B League of the 2014 Winter Adult Coed Softball League, put on by the Cayman Islands Little League Association. Next up for Toney Davis and the Premiums is a week eight interleague contest with A.L. Thompson’s Hammers at 8:15 p.m. on field four at the Field of Dreams. Hammers, 3-4, are third out of five teams in the A League.
Thursday’s other match features a C League tussle between 2-3-2 Uniregistry and 2-5 Intertrust. This week’s round of games started Sunday with KPMG A topping Rackam’s Crabbies, 7-4, and NCB Crushers dismantling Walkers Warriors, 23-15. On Monday, Coors Light Chuggers beat Deloitte, 7-6. The last match is slated for March 28 as Delphi Geeks face Rhino Rebar at 7:30 p.m. on field four.
At the end of week seven, each division had clear-cut frontrunners. Tower Titans, 7-0, and KPMG A, 6-1, pace the top flight. YMCA We Got The Runs, 7-0, and 5-2 Home Gas Regulators top the B ranks and Dart, 7-0, along with 5-2 UBS Swingers and 5-2 Digicel Dynamos lead the C League.
