The tourist who died this week after getting into trouble snorkeling off Cemetery Beach in West Bay has been identified as Joseph Dieschbourg, 65, from Illinois, police said.
Emergency services and police responded to a 911 call at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Responders administered CPR and transported the man to the Cayman Islands Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 10 a.m.
Mr. Dieschbourg is Cayman’s first water-related death of the year.
