A Cayman Airways vice president confirmed Monday that he will be leaving the airline in May to deal with a private family matter back in the United States.
Mr. Wrightington |
VP Commercial with CAL John Wrightington said he tendered his resignation on 7 April to take effect next month. He was hired at the national air carrier in February 2007.
Mr. Wrightington said his decision to resign had nothing to do with the airline, and hoped that members of the public would respect his family’s privacy.
Airline officials contacted by the Caymanian Compass on Monday about the resignation did not immediately respond.
It is understood an internal notice about the resignation went out last week to CAL staff.
Mr. Wrightington, who came to CAL from Caribbean Star Airlines, is responsible for all sales, product distribution and promotion, and network management among other areas.
VP Commercial is one of four top executive posts at Cayman Airways which reports directly to the airline’s CEO.
