Tropical Storm Paloma decided to give Grand Cayman a visit.
We sincerely hope that damage was minimal and that our many friends in Little Cayman and Cayman Brac have not suffered too much, although I understand they had a rough time. Our thoughts are with them.
At our home in West Bay we were comfortably battened down, enjoying television (thanks WestStar), telephone and internet (thanks Cable and Wireless: I can’t say I like the acronym LIME very much), and above all thanks to CUC who kept us in power up to just after midnight on Saturday morning.
Power was returned to us at 10am, so our inconvenience was minimal. We enjoyed a good cooked breakfast from our gas stove (thanks Home Gas).
So politicians, please show your gratitude to CUC by leaving them alone so that they can maintain the excellent service they give. Don’t forget the old saying ‘if it ain’t broken, don’t try to fix it!
