From now through Saturday, 6
November, LIME customers will be able to make a CI $10 donation to the National
Council of Voluntary Organisations by texting the word Donate to 4483 (short
code GIVE). The funds will be used to assist children in the NCVO’s foster
home, preschool & nursery and will contribute towards the care of more than
100 local children.
The text donation opportunity
coincided with the organisation’s 31st annual fundraiser, a radio/telethon on
Cayman 27 on Saturday 30 October at the Prospect Playhouse, the largest
fundraiser held by the NCVO each year.
The event raised pledges of CI$117,500. However, the NCVO hopes to reach
a target of CI$140,000 with the assistance of LIME customers.
“The success of our radio/telethon
is vital to the survival of the NCVO and its projects” said Janice Wilson, CEO
of the voluntary organisation. “We’re
delighted that LIME, as a long-time supporter of the NCVO, is partnering with
us to provide their customers with an additional opportunity to make a donation
by texting the word donate to GIVE (4483).”
Julie Hutton, marketing manager at
LIME, said: “We are delighted to once again support the NCVO with their much
needed fundraising and to add the texting to donate element means even more
people will be able to support this very worthy cause.”
