Cool winds ruled the day Thursday
as North Side hosted its Pirates Week Heritage Day.
While there was a spit of rain
early on, the dampness didn’t deter and soon the skies cleared for a perfect
day to catch up with old friends and savour North Side favourites like fish and
fritters, turtle, conch stew and heavy cake.
The North Side Kitchen Band offered
up sweet sounds of music to the ears of those who made the trek.
District seniors were also on hand,
dressed in traditional garb, showing how to make rope, whompers, tatting and
plaiting.
The night was topped off with the
traditional bonfire.

All in all, a good time was had by
all.
