Passa Passa at Margaritaville

It is the biggest thing happening on the streets of Kingston these days and it is finally coming to Cayman tonight, say organisers of Passa Passa at Margaritaville.

The event will feature Swatch International, featuring Maestro, alongside DJ Von, Studio 1 and DJ Tony Chen.

Passa Passa is the new party craze from Jamaica. Swatch International was established in 1991 by O’Neil Miles, whose love for music went back from the days he used to attend Jamaica College.

From its base in Kingston, Miles built up his record collections and equipment. In a short time Swatch International became one of the top ranked sounds coming out of Kingston Jamaica, from the late 1990s going on to the year 2000.

Swatch has played alongside top sounds such as Tony Matterhorn, Stone Love, Metro Media, Renaissance, Coppershot, and Bass Odyssey.

With the introduction of the street dance Passa Passa which was established by Miles in March 2003, this also increased the popularity of the sound.

Rated as the top selector and real Passa Passa man on the sound, Maestro has been on Swatch International for the past 13 years. Prior to going on Swatch, Maestro selected on the reputed old hits sound, Klassique Disco from Rae Town fame. Accompanying him from the sound will be Genius, a newer member of Swatch International.
