The show is the artist’s second exhibition in Cayman. Jilla last exhibited at Sapphire earlier this year.
Storm From The East will include some 15 paintings all acrylic on canvas.. The artist plans to add new paintings throughout the month as artwork is sold.
Paintings on show will be diverse, but all will have the common thread of a Middle Eastern feel.
‘From a painting of Tutankhamen, to sail boats in fog storms, horses and lighting skies, the exhibition is an art storm not to be missed,’ Jilla said.
The artist, who is a trained beauty therapist, studied at Cambridge College of Arts and Technology in the UK. She also studied under a Persian Master Artist in her home country of Iran.
Jilla has been seriously painting for the past 18 months, since arriving in Cayman.
‘Cayman has bought my spirit and energy into my art,’ Jilla explained. ‘To a large degree my life is seen in my art, when it gets exciting so does my work.’
All artwork is for sale. The exhibition runs throughout April.
