Cayman team to compete in Miami Northwest Track & Field Classic

The Hy-tech Tigers Track & Field Club will travel to Miami this weekend to compete at the 32nd Annual Miami Northwest Track & Field Classic, which will be held at the Traz Powell Stadium in Miami, Florida. The meet will be held over a three day period June 8, 9, & 10 where a full slate of Track & Field events will be contested.

The team consist 30 athletes, 24 males and 6 females, a number of whom are National Representatives and/or past performers who have won their respective events or placed in the top three in their respective age group. Some of the athletes who will be competing are Tyrel Cuffy, Kemar Hyman, Maxwell Hyman, Richard Ibeh, Shane Evans, Alexandra Terry, Junior Hines, Robert Ibeh, Andrew Ibeh, Rhymeich Adolphus, Kareem Rankin and Daniel Terry. Other athletes making their debut and expected to perform well are Anthony Chin, Christopher Powell, Kyle Thompson, Steven Reid, Mitchell Forbes, Aaron McLaughlin, Rejuan Henry, Andrew Perrin, Joseph Suberan, Daniel Robinson and Maritza McLaughlin. New comers in the youth category are Chelsea Brown, Ashley McLean, Janelle Scarlet, Avianna Watler, Jevonnie Jackson, Jevon Taylor and Leandro Powell. Mauricio Terry who will be traveling with the group will represent Mustang Track Club.

Coach Kenrick Williams commented that this is one of the largest group the club will be taking to compete overseas, and he is expecting to see many personal best performances, as the athletes have been training very hard.

Officials traveling with the team are: Coach Kenrick Williams, Jenna Terry, Sandra Cuffy and Elizabeth Ibeh. Chaperones: Carmel Williams, Rosa Ritch, Noel Jackson and Alexander Henry. The team returns to Grand Cayman on Monday June 11th at 9:00pm.
