New complaints procedures at DVDL

The Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing officials has implemented new complaints handling and suggestions procedures.

Suggestion boxes are located at all DVDL offices while complaints may be submitted in four ways: formal letter, sent either by traditional postage mail or e-mail; calling 945-8344; faxing written complaints to 945-8345; or using a form on the department’s soon-to-be launched website.

The new procedures are intended to help customers communicate more easily with department staff, DVDL Deputy Director Richard Simms said in a press release.

‘Complaints made by members of the public are matters of great importance,’ he said. ‘After receiving a complaint, our aim is to devise a solution within seven working days. A written acknowledgement will also be sent to the complainant.’

Minister of Communications, Works and Infrastructure Arden McLean said he is pleased with the procedures.
