The Pink Ladies Volunteer Corp is gearing up for the organisation’s largest fundraiser of the year.
Tuesday morning at the South Sound Dart Park, the group of ladies was busier than Santa’s little elves in a workshop, gleefully stitching, stuffing and painting Yuletide items to be sold at the annual Christmas Bazaar.
The bazaar, tea and variety show takes place on Saturday, 24 November, at the St. Ignatius Catholic High School.
The show, always a big hit with shoppers seeking handmade items for the Christmas season will have something for everyone.
On sale will be handmade wreaths, topiaries and centrepieces, bells and other knick-knack items, Christmas puddings, cakes, scones, banana bread, chutneys, jams and pies along with other homemade bits and pieces. A Christmas wall plaque will also be auctioned at the show.
Visitors to the event will also enjoy presentations by dancers from Miss Jackie’s School of Dance.
A children’s corner with a variety of activities and prizes, cookie decorating, face painting and ring toss will be provided for the youngsters.
A great deal of hard work is put in by many volunteers to make this event a huge success.
New members of any age, who can give some of their time and energy to various activities, are always welcome. Volunteers to assist in running the Pink Hibiscus Coffee Shop at the hospital, to spend time at the Pines Retirement Home and to participate in the Craft Group are particularly needed.
