Salsa King hangs up his shoes

After teaching for six years salsa king Roger Thompson will be hanging up his shoes to focus on his career and family.

‘I’ve come to be known as Roger the salsa dancer and I want to be known as Roger the realtor,’ Mr. Thompson commented.

Leaving teaching will aid him in developing his real estate career and spending more time with his family.

‘I had just moved from Birmingham to Liverpool and wanted to meet people, so I looked up salsa dancing in the yellow pages and went dancing,’ said Mr. Thompson. ‘It was there that I met Sarah, fell in love and moved to the Cayman Islands.’

Although Sarah Diggle (his long time salsa dancing partner) and Thompson are no longer together, their Salsa Rica lessons at Barnes Dance Academy have flourished over the past six years.

Despite the fact that he is retiring Sarah will still be offering complimentary salsa lessons at The Wharf on Tuesday nights at 9pm lasting for about 45 minutes.

Last Tuesday Mr. Thompson’s signature coloured shoes were given a farewell at The Wharf and will be sadly missed on the dance floor by people of all ages and walks of life.
