Taking over as new area commander for the Eastern Districts is Chief Inspector Adrian Seales.
‘I am looking forward to building on the existing good work already being carried out in the Eastern Districts,’ said Mr. Seales in an RCIP press release.
‘This is an exciting time for the RCIPS and I am extremely pleased to be part of it,’ he said.
Mr. Seales joined the RCIP in 1981, being promoted to sergeant in 1984, inspector in 1994 and acting for the Eastern Districts in 2005.
His wide range of experience includes service in the traffic department, training department and George Town, Cayman Brac and Bodden Town police stations.
His previous posting was as officer in charge of community policing overseeing beat officers island wide and the DARE drug education programme.
A graduate of, amongst other places, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police College, Mr. Seales is also studying for a degree in business administration at the University College of the Cayman Islands.
‘We welcome an officer of his calibre and track record coming to BT to institute change and make a real difference in community policing,’ said Bodden Town MLA Osbourne Bodden, according to the release.
‘The public must be won back and I believe we now have the right man for the job.
‘I have discussed with him some of his plans and he has our full support. All necessary resources will be provided by government and we look forward to making our community safe and crime free once again,’ he said.
Mr. Seales, living in George Town and married to wife Sharon, has three children, Brian, Rashad and Shennique.
‘I am very keen to make sure the community know that I am here to help them and that should anyone have any concerns about policing in their community I am willing to speak with them,’ said Mr. Seales.
