This Saturday, Cayman residents are invited to take a sneak peek at this year’s Cayman Classic food and wine event by attending a Modern Caribbean Cuisine Cooking Class at the Old English Bakery on Mary Street.
From 6pm to 8:30pm, Chef Nathan Hyam will explore the flavours of modern Caribbean cuisine, and those who attend will learn to reproduce the dishes presented, says a press release from the Department of Tourism.
‘The mouth watering menu includes Jerk Shrimp and Plantain Salad with Mango Dressing; Tamarind Ginger Chicken; Callaloo and Pumpkin Sautee; Toasted Coconut Rice; and Mango Coconut Cream Tartlet. All of these courses will be paired with different wines by a representative from Jacques Scott,’ said the release.
Ticket price is CI$40 which includes all recipes as well as food and wine tastings. For more information, please call 927-2609, or email [email protected].
The third annual Cayman Classic is set to take place 2-5 March and will include cooking demonstrations, wine seminars, and special events with 5-star meals from international celebrity chefs, sommeliers and on-island Caymanian cuisine specialists.
