Grand Cayman’s second Adventure Boot Camp for women kicked off Monday, hard on the heels of the first camp.
Participants can now choose from one of two four-week programmes. The first includes five one-hour sessions, Monday through Friday at Truman Bodden Sports Centre, or three one-hour sessions Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Participants can attend at either 5.30am or 6.30am, said a press release from Body Sculptor Fitness Centre.
Ernest Ebanks, owner of Body Sculptor Fitness Centre, and the fitness guru who first brought the concept to Cayman, is confident about the programme’s continued success.
‘So far the response has been very good, and the ladies are seeing results. I have many women who are signing up again for the second Adventure Boot Camp,’ he said
The participants who went through the first programme were equally enthusiastic about what the first boot camp had done for them.
Tracy McAnally commented, ‘Never in a million years would I have thought I would get up at 5.30 in the morning to run a mile, do a zillion push-ups, run bleachers, lift weights and do 700 crunches a week.
‘The best thing of all is it boosts your self-esteem like no banana split could ever do. It helps you develop a routine for a more positive lifestyle. Although you are there as a group, the attention Ernest gives you as a personal trainer is second to none.’
Lisa Uggeri also affirmed that the Adventure Boot Camp was a great programme for her.
‘I had never exercised in the early morning before and it turns out this really works for me. (It’s a) great way to start the day – work up a sweat, build some muscle, burn some fat and know that you’ve done it all before even going to work.’
With the upcoming holiday season around the corner, the programme’s organisers see Adventure Boot Camp as the perfect solution for starting and maintaining a healthy fitness regime.
The release added that the programme provides customised meal plans, pre- and post assessments, a three to five percent reduction in body fat, five to 12 pounds in weight loss, and a one to three inch reduction in the midsection.
The second Adventure Boot Camp has added an outdoor fitness programme for boys and girls, from 12 to 16-years-old. Youngsters can now enjoy a vigorous workout Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 3.30pm, starting 23 October for six weeks.
