Police made a number of arrests following an operation carried out in East End aimed at targeting those involved with the use and supply of drugs.
On Thursday, the following people were arrested:
• A 43-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine, possessing a drug utensil and consumption of an illegal substance.
• A 23-year-old woman on suspicion of possessing an unlicensed firearm (ammunition), possession of ganja and consumption of a controlled drug.
• A 19-year-old man on suspicion of possessing an unlicensed firearm (ammunition).
The operation was led by Eastern Districts Inspector, Alden Welcome with assistance from the Drugs Task Force.
‘Criminals in East End need to know that we are on their case. We are determined to make the Cayman Islands a drug-free environment for everyone who lives and visits here,’ said M. Welcome,
‘Those who are involved in criminality should be aware that we will pursue them and we will catch them.’
