Butterfield Bank’s company mascot Vern attended their Learning and Development Centre’s Open House recently.
The open house unveiled Butterfield’s launch into e-learning. Butterfield employees will now enjoy having access to thousands of training programmes at the touch of a button, states a press release.
They can develop their skills at the office, at home or anywhere with Internet access. Many of the subjects offered enable students to gain certifications and credits towards professional development and university programs.
There are three core curriculum areas. The business curriculum offers learning in the areas of managing business strategy and operations, finance, human resources, managing and leading people and professional effectiveness. The desktop curriculum offers learning in all core desktop applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
The IT professional curriculum is for IT specialists and covers over 1,000 topics for the IT Professional.
The open house also launched the new customer service representative online training, which will form part of the training for new customer service reps in the bank’s branches.
The launch of e-learning is another valuable piece of the learning offering at Butterfield Bank. The Learning and Development Centre has been working over the past three years to offer multiple development and education options for employees. It supports a comprehensive in-house learning curriculum facilitated by members of the team, which include Samantha Nehra, manager, along with Training Officers Martha Bush, Elljanna Dixon and Colin Hinds. The Learning and Development Centre also offers a library, computer lab with interactive SMARTBoard, and can tailor make training programs depending on the needs of the different business units.
