Community members in Prospect are joining forces with their Neighbourhood Policing Officer to spread the crime prevention message and help make their community even safer.
Wednesday night residents from Bimini Drive attended a Crime Reduction and Neighbourhood Watch presentation, held by PC Everton Spence. The talk focussed on a power point show detailing various crime prevention measures.
Officer Spence also spoke in-depth about Neighbourhood Watch, focussing on its aims, benefits and how it operates as well as addressing questions regarding issues that are of concern at the moment.
‘It is very encouraging to see members of the community coming together in this way,’ he said. ‘They were enthusiastic about getting involved and working on creating a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in their area and I thank them for their continued support.’
The Neighbourhood Policing Department has launched a number of Neighbourhood watch schemes in the past and will continue to work with residents of the Cayman Islands Community to reduce crime and disorder.
Residents in Prospect can contact PC Spence on 926-0656.
Anyone wanting further information on crime reduction initiatives or Neighbourhood Watch Schemes can contact the Neighbourhood Policing Department on 244-2934.
