Anticipation is building as Sunday 12 June approaches and the CIFA JAC Beach Football Fete at the Royal Palms kicks-off.
Twenty matches have been scheduled between 10am and 4:30pm, when 10 teams battle for Cayman’s first-ever beach football championship.
The semi-final matches are expected to kick-off by 4:40pm. The final is set for 5:30pm.
Teams expected to compete include Academy SC, Roma United, Tigers FC, Sunset FC, Brazil Community Team, Borstal Rovers, East End United, Scholars International, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Western Union FC.
Rules closely follow those outlined by FIFA, apart from the awarding of blue cards for player offences.
CIFA is still looking for volunteers to assist on Sunday. If interested call the CIFA office at 949-5775.
