Droves of fans turn out to support Spontaneous
Elements Nightclub and Lounge was filled to capacity on 27 August, as scores of fans and well-wishers came out to celebrate the launch of Spontaneous, the new album by The iZ that has been generating buzz near and far.
The group’s follow-up is no doubt timely, as fans were eagerly anticipating more of their unique sound after the success of the chart-topping debut release, Beach Club.
“It’s been awesome,” says group member Stephan Cotterell. “The support we have received from everyone has been phenomenal and truly appreciated. There is no doubt that a certain level of national pride accompanies all of our progress, for which we are truly grateful.”
The album is expected to also do well in Japan, where Beach Club rode all the way to the number two spot on the charts.
“We are interested in creating a brand that people can associate with and recognise; a universal swagger that encompasses all aspects of entertainment and is viable on virtually all levels. It’s about sharing and the business of culture,” says Manager Dane Ramoon, who adds that the vision for The iZ is to fully appreciate the scope of commerce that is accessible through entertainment in order to properly create a bridge for other groups to come out of Cayman.
Also at the launch party was special guest and multiple Soca Monarchy winner Machel Montano, who appears on one of the tracks on the album and was also at the video shoot.

In addition to the launch party on Saturday night, The iZ shot their second video in as many weeks.
As part of the culmination of that two-week period, Wine, the second single off the LP, which features Montano, more fans of The iZ boarded the Vall Halla to participate in the video shoot.
The guys say the song is the kind of tune that brings the carnival spirit in a world flavour that can be felt around the globe.
Montano said he enjoyed the beauty of the Cayman Islands while shooting the video and could not help but be drawn to the water as soon as he arrived and saw the turquoise hues calling to him along Seven Mile Beach.
