Known as wading birds, egrets are regular visitors to the Cayman Islands. Usually these birds prefer freshwater ponds, mangrove lagoons and fringing reefs. However, this elegant egret was spotted one afternoon recently wading in the shallows of the pool at Silver Sands condominiums.
