The Cayman Islands Darts Association hosted its Annual General Meeting on Monday, 12 September, at the Grand Caymanian Resort. MC for the night was Emerald Mohammed (a dart legend himself and former president of the Darts Association) who introduced Henry Piarrot the general manager of the Grand Caymanian who then welcomed the guests of honour, the “Legends of Darts” and the rest of the dart members and friends.
A moment of silence for the fallen comrades was observed.
Paul Anglin presented the legends with certificates of appreciation for their dedication and contribution to the sport from as far back to the early 70s.
Paul also presented Plaqyes to Frankie Coleman for being Cayman’s first Mens Singles Caribbean Dart Champion in 1991, Hiram Wright and Greg Vincent for being Cayman’s First Mens Doubles Caribbean Darts Champions in 1986, and Edsel Haylock, Mens Singles Caribbean Dart Champion 2008
The 2010-2011 Dart League First place trophies were presented to Patriots (which stands for: Philip, Astor, Trevor, Remain, In, Our, ThoughtS), Second Place went to Snipers, MVP Male went to Earl Smith, MVP female went to Michelle Terry, Most Improved Male went to Steve Zawistowski, Most Improved Female went to Cheryl Palmer and Rookie of the Year went to Liza Montepalco.
Trophies were preesnted by former Vice President Richard Campbell.
All sponsors, venues and the media were thanked for their support. The “Trevor Lloyd Youth League” begins next week at Triple C School and young Arek Archibold was recognised as Cayman’s current Junior Dart Champion.
Elections took place with Paul Anglin remaining as president, Frank Martyr the new vice president, Miriam Rodriques returned as secretary, Michelle Cullen returned as treasurer and Cassius Anglin as new Venue inspector.
